K.O.L.A. – Kids on a Life Long Adventure
Ages 12-18

KOLA Mission Statement:
Our goal is to equip and train young people in spiritual disciplines such as prayer, worship, and understanding Scripture. We do this by giving them interactive ways of exploring how they relate to Jesus most effectively in prayer, worship and Bible reading and then give them an opportunity to practice or respond to what they have learned that evening.

KOLA Café – Wednesday - starts 6:00-6:30
Youth Band leads in worship from 6:30-6:45
Activities/Topic Discussions 6:45-7:30
Prayer Ministry or Small Groups 7:30-8:15

Summer Small Groups start in August
Each small group will meet to develop better relationships and will have a topic of study and discussion. Times and days are still to be decided.

Discipleship:
We follow the model that Jesus set of discipleship – He had three close friends who he spent most of his time with, and at the same time he worked closely with His 12 disciples. We have several adult leaders who have offered their time and energy to working with the youth who attend our evenings and are available for mentoring on a more personal basis.

Additional Events and Activities:
Occasionally we will plan bowling trips, attend concerts, have fun at BBQ’s or game nights.
We have a weekend retreat every year around the topic of dating, and abstinence. The program we used last year was called, “Sex and Young America.”
We partner with Youth with a Mission, Discovery Bay for their Spring Adventure (during Spring Break). This three day camp offers teens experiences in mission work and how to share their faith.

We participate in a 30 Hour Famine – the teens raised money through sponsorship to fast for 30 hours. During the event teens sleep at the church and learn about world hunger through various interactive activities, games, and videos. Then on Saturday we do something to help the hungry in our community as a service project.

The last two years our big summer trip has been to Creation West – a four day event at the Gorge in Eastern Washington. Creation is packed full of worship, teaching and all kinds of awesome concerts. Next year we are hoping to plan a mission trip for our big summer event.
