Council at Redeemer

The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer council has general oversight of the life and activities of LCR, as well as, in particular, its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Lutheran Churches in Mission for Christ.

The constitution of LCR establishes a council comprised of ten LCR members elected by the church congregation members for two year terms. Ideally, half of the council is elected in December of each year.  The council president, vice-president and treasurer and secretary comprise the officers of the church.  Management of the church legal affairs and management of the staff is the responsibility of an executive team comprised of the officers plus the pastor.  Key functional responsibilities are assigned to five ministry areas, plus the director of buildings and grounds.

Treasurer - John Chapman It can be difficult to apply an uplifting minister or job description to "treasurer" because the role may even remind some of Jesus' betrayer. Still, it was a significant role to Jesus, so I try to approach my role only out of love and tend to say yes to everything even when it may be better to say no. Apply a “can do” attitude is my approach!

Office Manager [non-council] - Cheryl Montgomery Being the Office Manager for Redeemer is a personal blessing. It gives me a wonderful opportunity to get to know our members and to be a part of the many areas of Redeemer’s ministry. My position here at Redeemer also gives me the opportunity to work closely with Pastor Don.
